How to authorize users for Training Units

Instructions are provided below about how to authorize users so they can use Training Units.

This step is required before your company can register into training classes.

The authorization is typically done by the person who's listed as "Technical Contact" on the order that was created to purchase the Training Units.  It's done as a security measure. This document is written as a reference for the Technical Contact.

Overview

A process overview of how to use Training Units to register into an F5 training is shown in the graphic  below.  This article provides detailed instructions about how to perform the second action shown in the graphic, Step B - Authorize Users to Spend Training Units.

AUTHORIZE USERS TO SPEND TRAINING UNITS

Step 1:

As the Technical Contact, you will receive an automated email from LearnF5 containing information about your Training Unit balance and corresponding KeyCode.  The subject line on the email will be, "F5 Training Unit KeyCode Distribution Confirmation."

Step 2:

Send F5 the names and email addresses of the students (end users) to be authorized to use the Training Units.   These email addresses need to be associated with your organization, not personal email addresses, such as Gmail accounts.  Send this information to:  support@mail.education.f5.com 

Step 3:

F5 will reply to you and the students with additional information about how to proceed.  This reply will be sent once the accounts have been prepared for use, which typically takes 1-2 business days.

Step 4:

Give students the Training Unit Keycode to let them know they can choose their training.

Please note: there is no way to assign a certain number of Training Units to an individual student. Once a student is authorized, they can spend any or all of the available Training Units. Therefore, it’s very important that each student understands their training plan before you share the KeyCode with them.

That's it!  Now that the students/end users have the KeyCode to register into training classes, your company is ready to start getting value from the training services you purchased.
